The A to Z of Essential Oils: Part 1

7/21/2017

WELCOME to the A to Z of Essential oils part ONE!!!!!

Did you CRY yesterday during the Nepal video? Holy cow, I do everytime!

Anyhow, I am so excited to dig into these beautiful gifts of the earth with you today and in the days to come!  If you commit to commenting and following along with us each day, we are going to be giving away some GREAT bottles of oils to 8 lucky commenters, at the end of our oil week!!!  YAY!!!!!!! :)
Picture
Let me tell you about WHY we picked doTERRA, after 4+ years of using another popular brand......

There is a reason doTERRA is the #1 oil company in the world!  It comes down to potency, purity and humanitarian heart.  I cannot wait to dig into these topics with you this week!

First up, click and watch this short video:
Because of our purity standards and unsurpassed quality and testing, you can use your oils 3 ways.   This is special to doTERRA!

Check out my video from my team orientation to learn more:

Dorothy Team Orientation: 3 Ways To Use Your Oils from Tonya Ferguson on Vimeo.

So let's talk about some uses for these oils in YOUR life:

I am going to do my best to be compliant, and still let you know what I am talking about! Haha :)   If you see these, {   } it means I have replaced the non compliant word, so its like a word puzzle.  You can figure it out!
Picture
A is for An A Attack   (Ack! I sound like a Dr Seuss book!)
This is one of many options for supporting healthy lung function.  Rub on chest, back and feet bottoms, as needed during times of respiratory distress, or before a work out to improve oxygen flow.

I like to take an empty roller and make a breathe roller using 15 breathe oil, 10 lime oil and 5 frankincense oil.  Very effective and easy to roll on as needed!

We call this the "Marriage Saver" for those LOUD noises coming from your spouses nose and mouth at bedtime!!!!!

Picture
Breathe also comes in stick form, and respiratory drops to suck on. Totally tasty, my kids used to fake sick for those, but I tell them to knock it off and go eat one.  They are healthy! Brown rice cane syrup and essential oils.  :)
Picture
B is for Burn

Lavender is the swiss army knife of essential oils, and has over 150 uses.  It has hundreds of different compounds that do different jobs in your body.  It's great for relaxing, teething, sleeping and so much more!

Accidently grab your flat iron plates?  Or lean on the stove?  Grab lavender!

Did you know if takes 30 pounds of lavender flower to make ONE 15 ml bottle of doTERRA lavender oil?

Yup, that's because of doTERRA's amazing purity standards.  No fillers, no pesticides, no contaminates.

Lavender Touch is a convenience form of lavender oil, ready to roll on with fractionated coconut oil already in it, in a beautiful stainless steel roller topped bottle!
Picture
C is for Crud

On Guard with fractionated coconut oil rubbed on pulse points is what I use for supporting a healthy immune response in my family.

Let's be honest, I'd love to put my kids in a bubble all winter, but I cannot.  Instead, I simply apply doTERRA On Guard oil, daily, before we go.  Preventative health is a very incredible way to support your family in wellness!!!!!

On Guard comes in oil form, a super charged ninja fighter gel cap form for times of crud, beadlets for on the go immune supporting and On Guard throat lozenges.

Those are great for germy airplane air, a scratchy throat, finding a missing voice, or just again, general health.  You can keep these in your purse and eat them for a treat, totally yum! Brown rice cane sugar and on guard oil!
Picture
D is for Dogs

Sophie says to tell you that Terra Shield helps her with itchy fleas and mean ticks.   We place drops along the inside of her collar every 2 weeks or so.  We also mist her coat with this blend mixed with water, which I will share with you now.

Our family uses it in our mosquito spray.  No more yucky chemicals in this household!  This homemade bug spray is perfect for us AND Sophie.

Comes in oil form & spray form for easy on the go in your purse or bag!

Here is the bug spray we use at home, smells amazing!

This safe natural alternative has to be applied more often, but it works well and is safe and natural!

The dangers of DEET:

Picture
E is for Energy
In a world that tells you to grab a soda or monster drink, I am going to tell you there is a better way! NATURALLY!

Life Long Vitality is the number one best seller.  Nutrition is key to supporting a healthy happy energetic day!  Dale and I LOVE these products and cannot believe how we drag by 4pm if we do not take them. I have never been able to tell a difference when I take my vitamins and when I don't, until now.  Who knew I'd ever be the person that looked FORWARD to swallowing my pills, because of the amazing energy to come!?  Madness I tell you.  ;)

My favorite oils for energy boosting are Wild Orange and Peppermint.  They smell SO SO good in the diffuser!

Watch this video on LLV Vitamins by Dr. Axe:
F is for Fluff

Slim and Sassy is called our Metabolic blend, and its great for curbing appetites and boosting metabolism.  It also supports healthy blood sugar levels!

Grapefruit is also effective for this, and tastes great in water.  (No plastic drinking cups, only glass or stainless steel with oils)   Grapefruit is wonderful for erasing cellulite!

I lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks by making a "Fluffy Rub".  I mixed 30 drops of Slim & Sassy with 15 drops of grapefruit and whipped it with creamy coconut oil for a homemade lotion.  Rub on fluffy spots twice a day!

Slim and Sassy also comes in gel cap form, not pictured, and GUM, which is amazing!  Helps maintain an already healthy blood sugar level. AND helps with afternoon cravings for those BAD SNACKY CHOICES! :)
Picture
We also have of 3 kinds of Trim Shakes.  I usually gag when I drink shakes, but not these, they are super silky like melted ice cream.  My favorite is Orange Creamsicle!  I blend it with vanilla coconut milk, spinach and frozen berries in my immerson blender.  Your body will release fat better if you stop starving it of healthy fats.  NO SKIM MILK.  Do Coconut or raw or whole Vitamin D at least!

Dale and I actually crave these shakes for lunch, perfect for travel days or on the go!  I add Chia seeds for an extra BOOST from this super protein, and a scoop of doTERRA Terragreens with all the best greens hiding inside.
Picture
G is for Grief

Balance is a grounding oil, like a lighting rod.  It can help support the body during times of stress, focus and help with centering.  Great for promoting restful sleep and for kiddos who like to wiggle!

Console, the doTERRA comforting blend, uses sweet floral and tree essential oils to promote feelings of comfort.

  Cheer,
with a sunshiny, optimistic aroma, doTERRA Cheer can counteract negative emotions and provide a boost of happiness and positivity when you are feeling down.

See how it comes in multiple forms?  That is for your convenience, you can buy the oils for diffusing, adding to a diffuser necklace or bracelet, or even making your own blends, OR Touch Roller form, meaning already has a carrier oil and ready to roll right on!!!

Picture
 H is for Heat

Peppermint on the back of the neck, or on a bandana, will drop body temperature, and allow you to feel cool and refreshed.  I also like to take peppermint water in a stainless steel bottle to the pool! Keep it in the fridge for a nice extra cool mist.

When the body is hot for other reasons, you can swipe peppermint and fractionated coconut oil from spine to tailbone to naturally bring the body temperature back down.

Picture
I'll stop here for today and let you digest all that great info!

I love the use of TerraShield for dogs. I have 3. One of which has congestive heart failure. She can not handle strong smells and so giving her regular pet store flea meds is so hard.

Jiminy Crickets! I can use essential oils on my dog? Sign me up immediately! Oh wait, I just did! Literally! Today I learned that I should sit around drinking grapefruit water (for my cellulite) while spritzing peppermint on myself (to keep me cool). I learned that bugs need to watch out for me and my soon to be oiled up boss self, and that learning about oils can be fun indeed! Thanks Tonya!
