We hurried home from Missouri to try to beat a wintery weather advisory. And thank the Lord, we DID! In fact, look what we woke up to our first morning home. MAGICAL. Big, fat, lazy flakes falling all day, made us want to cozy up near the fireplace and decorate for Christmas early. The kids were GLUED to the window after shrieking with joy, that IT SNOWED! It takes us about 4 or 5 hours to move back in, and get the apartment back up and running. Water on. Fridge plugged in. Stripping and washing bedding in the RV. Cleaning both houses. PHEW, it's a lot but it's great and we are thankful for this place and our home sweet rolling home in its warm shed stall next to it. One of the first things I wanted to do once I got all my 'chores' done, was to get out the antiques we had bought on our fall run. I have been watching for some fun retro pieces. They are harder to find than you would think! So much of it is farm and barn, and our new apartment is all 50's and retro, so it is tricky. I think these fit nicely, don't you?! Miss Avery was SO sure it was time to decorate for Christmas now that we were moved in and cozy by the fire. I will be honest, I wanted to too! Sooo, I broke all my own rules about no Christmas until after Thanksgiving, but anymore....I just want to enjoy life in all it's moments. Live them to the fullest. Throw rules to the wind and just ENJOY Christmas early if I want to. Besides, if we leave right after Christmas, it will be torn down early too. ;) So decorate we did! Deck the Hub with boughs of holly, fa la la la la, la la la LA! We saran wrap our tree every year, so it's super easy to just fluff and dust it and focus on the mantel and other details. Take a walk through. I have little bottle trees here and there that make me smile. I just think they are SO CUTE! Slideshow: Remember our old farm house we lived in before the road? Well, I had that green, gold and red tree in saran wrap in the shed storage area ever since! So it was time to unearth the old gal, dust her off well and get her upstairs where our red and black movie theatre room was in need of some Christmas cheer. I am SO excited I didn't sell it as planned. It makes the upstairs feel as festive as the downstairs. We even found a little rainbow light up tree for our colorful orange bathroom..... It may be early, but it sure makes my heart happy! I am going to enjoy every minute of it. :)
When do you put up your tree? Hugs, T
