Because of a connection Tiffany had, we were able to get a VIP tour of the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center. WOW! Was this place ever awesome!

Touring the Olympic Training Center with 4 time Olympian Luger, Rubens Gonzalez, gave us a whole new perspective on how hard of work it takes to get here....

This place is simply fantastic. They have on staff chefs, physical therapists, psychologist, specialists and doctors that volunteer their time, as well as all the latest and greatest equipment, including a climate controlled room to make elevation higher and oxygen lower to test the body strength. A space chamber to run on the treadmill in during sprains and injuries, and SO MUCH MORE!

  We got to see the athletes hard at work.....

There is also a training kitchen where chefs come in from Food Network to teach them new dishes. All recipe videos are found on the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center website.

  Did you know this is a campus where some of the athletes live and train?

  They have dorms with personal rooms and shared living rooms. They have to take allergy tests before they come in, and the caffeteria has a buffet based on the limitations of the athletes plus calorie counts of everything.

  They enjoy lawn activities, movie nights, and all the fun of a college campus, but work and training focused study. Super neat opportunity!
